Swallows 3 is one of four different walking groups within Cupar and District u3a. Our focus is on shorter walks designed for those members who have often been hikers or hill walkers and wish to maintain an active life in older age.

The walks which are held on the 1st Thursday of the month between September and June, are usually of between 2 and 4 miles in length and often contain an element of local history and a period of mindfulness. The group is very popular with a limit of 24 members where most monthly walks see an attendance of around 18-20 members.

We are fortunate in Fife to have such a variation in geography and landscape and to make the most of this variety members are encouraged to suggest and plan monthly walks in their own areas.

 Apart from the benefits gained from the gentle exercise the group enjoys a wonderful social well-being both during the walk and afterwards in the post walk lunches. 

Swallows 3 remains a very active group with walks planned in the future to Blacketyside, St Andrews, and an away day to Dunfermline
