The Group Contact is Tom Davison

This morning music group meets every second Tuesday from 10 am-12 noon, alternating with the second Music Group (Letham), which meets in the afternoon (2-4 pm).

Music 1 meets at Tom's home in Ceres, sometimes – when weather permits – outdoors, on the lawn.

Both Music Groups, 1 and 2, enjoy widely diverse programmes taking in the best – and sometimes the worst – the wonderful world of classical music has to offer.

Programmes sometimes focus on particular composers – recent ones have been on the relationship between Mozart and Haydn, George Bizet, Franz Schubert and Felix Mendelssohn. Often, the programmes cover themes in music, such as weddings and marriage, finales and pieces of music the composers never quite finished.

Occasionally, the focus is on particular instruments, such as the clarinet, the humble triangle or the use of the harp as an orchestral instrument.

The two groups are very friendly and the sessions are informal. Absolutely no musical knowledge is expected or required; if you like listening to music, you will be made most welcome.
